High Standard Secret Agents

An investigation in more than 50 countries on the use given by governments to the sophisticated Pegasus platform for wiretapping shows the enormous scale that espionage has reached in these times.

The revelations, carried out by an international journalistic investigation company of 17 prestigious media outlets, have been scandalous due to the number of illegal practices and the quality of those.

At least twelve Presidents, hundreds of journalists and diplomats, human rights activists and political leaders are mentioned, including in some cases friends and family.

These practice, although antique, is toxic when it comes to the violation of the privacy of individuals, a right generally guaranteed by the constitutions, and the perverse monitoring of conversations and messages, not always to combat criminal objectives, but for blackmail and extortion.

It is well known in this country that journalists, especially, have their phones tapped, and not always by express mandate of a competent authority, but by individuals connected to power groups that have black lists to intimidate or gossip.

This investigation about the usage of Pegasus in espionage can have serious repercussions if, through this method, sensitive national security or corporate confidentiality information has been caught and used for unspeakable purposes.

In the case of journalists, meddling in their private or professional lives is shameful meddling with the purpose of creating risks to their lives and work, a fine tool of censorship, blackmail and intimidation that speaks highly of those who sponsor and they perform this warmth.
